Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a state visit to Bhutan from November 11 to 12, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday.
During the visit, PM Modi will meet Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and the two leaders will inaugurate the 1020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project, developed jointly by the two countries. He will also attend the celebrations marking the 70th birth anniversary of Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth King of Bhutan and father of the current monarch.
Prime Minister Modi will also hold discussions with his Bhutanese counterpart, Tshering Tobgay. His visit coincides with the exposition of the Sacred Piprahwa Relics of Lord Buddha from India. The PM w
