The Canadian government has taken major action against gangs involved in extortion-related shootings. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has deported three foreign nationals accused of operating an extortion racket in the country.
According to officials, the CBSA has also identified 78 other individuals suspected of involvement in similar criminal networks.
Over the past few months, incidents of shootings outside the homes and businesses of businessmen have increased across Canada. Among the targets was popular comedian Kapil Sharma’s Caf 2727 restaurant.
