EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WNCN) – Darian Mensah lost a fumble in the closing seconds, ending Duke’s chances of a rally in a 37-34 loss to Connecticut Saturday.
UConn scored with just under two minutes remaining, converting a two-point attempt to take a three-point lead and force the Blue Devils to kick a field goal to send the game to overtime.
Mensah threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns, along with two interceptions. Nate Sheppard rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns for Duke (5-4), who returns home to face Virginia next week.
