Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has undergone a first medical examination on his knee injury picked up in Saturday's draw against Tottenham, according to reports in Slovenia.

The £73.7 million summer signing came on for United in the 58th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but lasted just half-an-hour following a tackle from Micky van de Ven.

Sesko headed straight down the tunnel after receiving treatment, and United boss Ruben Amorim admitted he was concerned about the situation. Asked if it might be a serious issue, he said: "I have no idea. Because it's the knee, we never know.

"I'm concerned with the injury because it's in the knee. We need Ben to be a better team. We have to check everything, we have to check what has happened with Ben."
