On the first day of flight reductions, more than a thousand flights were already canceled, and over 24,000 were delayed as the federal government shutdown continues. And that is only 4% of the flight cuts. This has frustrated travelers across the U.S., with passengers saying that this is a "failure of the government." By this time next week, flight cuts are expected to hit 10%, and with only three weeks into Thanksgiving, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has warned that this will be doubled if the shutdown reaches a new deadline, the longest in U.S. history.
