The Erie community gathered to honor veterans with a parade and ceremony organized by Erie Veterans Affairs, marking a tribute to those who have served in the military.

The event, held on Saturday morning, featured a parade that began at 10th & State Streets and concluded at North Park Row. Following the parade, a ceremony took place at Jefferson Elementary School, where veterans, their families and community members celebrated together.

"It's important to honor the veterans who give, many give their lives," said Steven Sventek, a U.S. Navy veteran, emphasizing the significance of recognizing veterans' sacrifices.
