The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League has announced Ethan Torres of the Osoyoos Coyotes as its Rookie of the Week, for the period ending Nov. 2.

The Kelowna native scored four goals and added an assist in two games for the Coyotes. In a 7-5 loss to the Sicamous Eagles, Torres had two goals and three points. In their 4-3 overtime win over the Nelson Leafs, he opened the scoring on the power-play, then tied the game 2-2 late in the second period.

“I played pretty well those last two games and I was moving the puck well with my twin brother who recently joined the team from Timmins, Ont.,” says Torres. “I honestly liked when I shoot the puck more because usually I’m a passer and when I scored those goals, I realized that I should start shooting more.”
