CLEVELAND, Ohio — Lake Catholic’s volleyball team is going for a four-peat.
The Cougars dominated Summit Country Day in straight sets Saturday, securing a 3-0 victory in the Division V state semifinal and advancing to the state championship match.
The Cougars (18-10), who won by scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-18 at Vandalia High School, have won three consecutive state titles. They will compete for their fifth state championship in school history at Wright State University on Sunday at 1 p.m. against New Lexington (26-2).
Ahnna Bergant led the Cougars with 19 kills and a .436 hitting percentage, accounting for 21 total points. She closed out both the first and second sets with decisive kills.
