PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - It seems like everything is expensive now, but some private universities in Central Illinois are offering free tuition, with another just joining in.
When you think of private colleges and universities, high tuition prices may come to mind. Administrators know this, but they don’t want learning to be out of reach.
“Price tags are always really, really high, right? If you were to look at our advertised sticker price for tuition, it’s a lot of money. But private institutions do a really good job always coming through with scholarships, grants, et cetera,” said Nathan Ament, Vice President for Enrollment at Knox College in Galesburg.
Knox just expanded a free tuition program for Illinois students who come from families making less than $100,000. Though it varies,
