ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — If you’ve been looking forward to your chance to cross over the Chesapeake Bay on foot this year, you’ll have to wait.
Maryland’s annual Bay Bridge Run has been canceled due to a “higher than acceptable chance of inclement weather” organizers announced on Saturday .
Organizers said that cancelations are up to the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), and that runners’ safety is their priority.
The bridge will be open to normal vehicular traffic.
According to the Bay Bridge Run website, there are no refunds for cancelation, although add-ons like beer bands and parking passes will be refunded, organizers say.
If you checked your bag at bag check, staff will be stationed at the Anne Arundel Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to noon for you to claim your bag.
