NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A sold-out Smoothie King Center crowd anxiously waited outside the arena Friday night (Oct. 7) for the opening night of superstar Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour.
Fans arrived dressed like the Grammy winner — sporting colorful wigs, bedazzled jerseys and oversized hoodies.
But some concertgoers also arrived carrying groceries.
“It gives us an opportunity to give while we are also having fun,” Stella Warren said after dropping off a sack of canned goods in one of several collection boxes outside each entrance.
Eilish has partnered with nonprofit Support + Feed throughout her tour to hold food donation drives at every stop. The organization, founded by Eilish’s mother Maggie Baird, combats food insecurity in local communities.
