The Maple Leafs suffered a painful loss on Saturday night.
Not only did the Leafs fail to put together 60 minutes of solid hockey, centre Scott Laughton was injured in a 5-3 defeat against the Boston Bruins at Scotiabank Arena.
In just his second game after returning from a lower-body injury, Laughton departed in the second period with an upper-body injury a fter being rocked on a hit by Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov . Bobby McMann stuck up for Laughton in a fight with Zadorov.
What’s more, goalie Anthony Stolarz was pulled for the first time with the Leafs (other than for injury last Dec. 12 against Anaheim). In came Dennis Hildeby, who stopped 19 of 20 shots.
