LEWISTON -- The Cheverus Stags hold the title of back-to-back Class A champs after defeating the Skowhegan River Hawks 3-2 on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Stags were on the attack and Sydney Brunelle put Cheverus on the board first with a snipe into the back of the cage.
The Stags would increase their lead when a shot was deflected well by Jaylee Radford into the goal to make it a two goal game.
The River Hawks did not go out without fighting, and in the fourth quarter, they tied the game with a beautiful goal by Dasia Alberico.
But just a minute later, the Stags sealed the game when Radford received the ball in front of the goal and tapped it in, sending Cheverus home as Class A state champs.
