LEWISTON -- The Belfast Lions have earned their second-straight Class B state title after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Freeport Falcons on Saturday.
The game was scoreless until later in the third quarter when Belfast's Allison Friel found Jocelyn Valleau in front of the net to put the Lions up 1-0.
Despite a late offensive push from Freeport, the Lions went on to win the Class B title in thrilling fashion, holding onto that 1-0 lead for the win.
