Colombian photographer Edgar Jimenez, who once worked with Pablo Escobar, showcased his portrait “Adam and Eve” featuring two of Escobar’s hippopotamuses. Displayed in the exhibition “Microdoses to Tame the Inner Hippopotamus,” the artwork explores political and cultural symbolism
Colombian photographer Edgar Jimenez exhibited “Adam and Eve”, his portrait of two of the first hippopotamuses brought to Colombia by Pablo Escobar in the 1980s. He served as Escobar’s personal photographer, and recollected that he used to take pictures of the hippopotamuses from a distance of four metres without any kind of protection, unaware of the dangers that they posed.
The 75-year-old photographer shared that the hippos were bought from a zoo in the US that buys and captures animals from Africa. Jimene
