MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Public Schools and the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers have reached a tentative agreement to avoid a teacher strike slated to begin on Tuesday.

Both organizations announced the tentative agreement on Saturday night. but declined to share any more information until a planned joint press conference on Monday.

“I am excited that we have reached a tentative agreement with the Minneapolis Federation of Educators (MFE) that puts our students first and advances our shared values and goals,” said MPS Superintendent Dr. Lisa Sayles-Adams, in a statement.
