FRANKLIN COUNTY – Deputies discovered evidence of wire theft during a traffic stop on November 8, 2025, around 3:30 a.m. on 4th Ave. The vehicle was heading south, possibly from Glade North Road, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies found about 30 feet of cut wire in the backseat, still covered in frost, along with cutting tools. Footprints on the car’s hood matched the driver and passenger, suggesting they used the vehicle to reach and cut the wire.
The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license, false statements and a warrant for possession of stolen property. The passenger was identified but not arrested. The vehicle was impounded for a search warrant.
Local farmers are urged to check their fields for missing wire. Anyone with information is aske
