A key part of the new public 3G pitch in Bedworth is now in place - but it will be something else first. Flood lights have been installed around the area where the new pitch will be created on the Miners Welfare Park.
It forms part of the new £30.6m physical activity hub site and will be open for the public to hire and use. But it has an unusual 'dual' purpose.
As CoventryLive reported, eventually it will be a new 9v9 all-weather 3G sports pitch. But before it becomes a place where people can play sports, it will be a place where people can park.
The area will be used as a temporary car park. It will be in use when the new hub opens and the old leisure centre is demolished.
