Bhubaneswar: In a heart-warming display of humanity and motherhood, a woman police constable Rajani Majhi from Malkangiri district went out of her way to help a young mother, Bhairavi Mandal, attend an exam without worrying about her 45-day-old infant.
Bhairavi had arrived at the exam centre with her husband and baby, but the infant’s cries threatened to disrupt her concentration. Constable Majhi, who is also a lactating mother, noticed Bhairavi’s distress and stepped in to offer help. She took the baby into her care, even breastfeeding the infant, allowing Bhairavi to focus on her exam.
