Eight months after buying the hotel, the Feros Group had lodged plans with Shellharbour City Council for a revamp in February this year .

Those plans were approved by the council in May.

They included the gutting of the first floor and building a new bistro, main bar, sports bar and TAB, gaming room, new kitchen and bottle shop area.

There was also a covered children's play area to the north.
