The Colorado Department of Transportation is wrapping up a couple of large road construction projects as the year nears an end, while preparing for new projects next year near downtown Grand Junction, the Redlands and Palisade.

The reconstruction of a section of U.S. Highway 6 in Clifton is nearing completion after a lengthy delay to the project. The contractor is completing the raised median, curb, gutter and landscaping, as well as tie-ins to the adjacent streets, CDOT Regional Communications Manager Charles Marsh stated in an email.

“We expect that final signing and striping work will begin in the coming weeks,” Marsh stated. “The project is projected to be completed by the end of December 2025, weather permitting.”
