RICHLAND, Wash. – The REACH Museum in Richland held its annual ‘Drummers and Dancers’ event on Saturday, celebrating the “Mid Columbia River” region’s Indigenous culture through song, dance and storytelling.

Rossana Sharpe, Executive Director of the REACH Museum, shared a touching scene from the event.

“You’ll see today, which was very endearing…mothers and fathers dancing with their infants. Teaching them, you know, even before they can dance and walk, the rhythms, the sounds, and the traditions of their culture,” Sharpe said.

Organizers stated the event was an opportunity to celebrate heritage, share stories and honor the enduring contributions of Native people’s past, present and future.
