Portland almost makes up for a bad 35 minutes with a comeback in the last 5 minutes, but it ends short as the tying goal comes a split-second late and Spokane wins 4-3.

Down 4-1 with 5 minutes left, Nathan Brown and Ryan Miller scored to make it 4-3. Then in the final seconds, a Portland scramble caused a loose puck in the crease. Miller knocked it in and the goal was given. However, on video review it was determined that it went in after time expired.

In the end, the 2nd period did Portland in with three Spokane goals, reversing a good Portland start that they didn’t get enough out of.

It’s Portland’s 3rd loss in a row, while Spokane broke their 3-game losing streak.
