Wilson, vice president and general manager of the Wilmington Steamboat Company, announced yesterday that the company has awarded to the Harlan plant of the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, the complete of the steamer City of Chester. The work will be commended next week and will cost about $100,000. Work to be done on the City of Chester involves a complete new modern steel superstructure of the most approved type.
75 Years Ago, 1950: Six persons were injured in a bus-truck crash at Eighth and Upland streets at 1.30 p.m. Wednesday and a store window was shattered when the bus was rammed against the store front.
