Time to remember
On Remembrance Day we honour those brave warriors who defended our democracy. I’ll also think of my father and uncles Tom and Bob whose name’s on Calgary Soldier’s Memorial and Canada’s National War Memorial. They fought for Canada during WW1. Dad told me on Christmas Day 1914, British and German troops emerged from their trenches in an unauthorized ceasefire, shook hands, sang carols and exchanged gifts. This story gives hope in a world turned upside down that good can triumph over evil. Lest We Forget.
