SRINAGAR : A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at 12:06 pm (IST) on Sunday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

According to the NCS, the tremor’s epicentre was located about 90 km deep beneath the region. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

However, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) recorded the quake at a slightly higher magnitude of 6.07, with a depth of 10 km (6 miles), while the United States Geological Survey (USGS) measured it at 5.5.
