The Palisade High School volleyball team’s streak of state tournament appearances is over.

The Bulldogs (11-14) had advanced to the Class 4A state tournament five straight seasons before going 0-2 at Saturday’s 4A Region 11 tournament at Pueblo County to see their season end.

Palisade lost to host Pueblo County 25-20, 27-25, 25-12 and then fell 25-14, 25-15, 25-16 to Standley Lake.

Bo Reimer had 19 digs and three aces, Lizzie Snover had five kills and four aces and Violet Welker had one solo block and two block assists against Pueblo County. Against Standley Lake, Reimer had 15 digs, Snover had six kills and Tiana Padilla added two aces.

Fruita Monument saw its season end short of a spot in the state tournament at the 5A Region 1 tournament at Fossil Ridge.
