Who is Mel on ‘Tracker?’ What to know about the new cast member

There’s a new character on season 3 of “Tracker.”

Melanie “Mel” Day was introduced during the Sunday, Nov. 2, episode of the CBS drama. Played by Cassady McClincy Zhang , Mel is Reenie’s (Fiona Rene) new assistant.

Mel told Reenie that she is “curious” about her work with Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a professional “rewardist” who uses his impressive tracking skills to assist law enforcement and private citizens in exchange for reward money. She also shared that she also has an aversion to traditional channels of justice due to a past experience.

“[My mom] was found [dead] in her car, shot in the parking lot of a rest stop, but they never found out who did it. So there were no answers, no justice,” Mel told Reenie. “I guess it just felt like the systems that were supposed to be ther
