KOCHI: Inter-state private buses from Kerala will stop their services from tomorrow in protest against unfair taxes in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Contract carriage bus services are protesting by suspending operations from tomorrow.

Sleeper and semi-sleeper luxury buses plying from Kerala to Bengaluru and Chennai will shut down their services. It is alleged that unfair taxes are being levied in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, even on all-India permit buses. There are allegations that vehicles are being seized and fined unfairly.

Many private buses operate in almost all districts of Kerala, that is, from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. Most of the buses set their destination to Bengaluru.
