HASSAN: Wild elephant Bhima lost a tusk after a fierce clash broke out with Captain in Jagaboranahalli village of Belur taluk.
Two massive wild elephants were in rut today, near Jagaboranahalli village. Bhima and Captain faced each other and fought violently. In the heat of the battle, Bhima crashed into a tree, resulting in him breaking a tusk.
Deprived of his tusk, Bhima trumpeted alone, blood streaming from his trunk. He stood in a coffee plantation, groaning in pain. Captain also suffered serious injuries in the fight.
Bhima, the wild elephant, is a beloved figure among the people of the Malnad region. Seeing his broken tusk, the villagers are deeply saddened.
