A Christmas tree farm celebrated 30 years of donating Christmas trees to soldiers who won't be home for the holidays with a Sunday event of Trees of Troops.
Trees for Troops is part of Operation Evergreen, a project created by the Ohio Christmas Tree Association (OCTA), which works to bring shipped Christmas trees to service members stationed out of the country.
Pioneer Trails Tree Farm in Poland hosted veterans, Girl Scouts and volunteers in helping chop down eight trees during their 30th-year event.
"We are so excited to participate in this worthy cause for another year," said Mary Jan Perdulla, owner of Pioneer Trails Tree Farm. "Local Girl Scout Troop 80170 will help us cut the trees, making this event even more special."
