BEVERLY — About 70 people turned out last Saturday at a reading to celebrate the publication of a new book of photos and poems that colorfully captures everyday scenes in the region, from sunsets to squirrels, by an award-winning local news photographer.

The book, “Poetic Images: Visions of the North Shore” (2025 Poetic Images Press), is a collaboration between Beverly resident and three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper and television photographer Stanley Forman and author and poet Bob DiCarlo, an Amherst resident who started his teaching career at Beverly High School from 1968 to 1970.
