ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Forty-six years ago, the investigation into the murder of Tammy Jo Alexander began. On November 2, 2025, Tammy would have turned 62 years old. Today is the anniversary of her death.
Over the past 46 years, thousands of leads have been generated; however, none have been able to identify her killer. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek assistance in solving this case.
She was murdered on November 9, 1979, and found in Caledonia, half a mile southwest of Route 5. Deputies say Tammy was found wearing tan corduroys, a multi-colored plaid cotton/polyester shirt, blue socks, brown ripple-sole shoes, and a red nylon-lined windbreaker with black stripes down the arms.
