LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police have identified the pedestrian who died in an east Lincoln crash on Friday.

Police identified the woman as 42-year-old Katherine Gogela of Lincoln. Gogela worked as a doctor at Lincoln Pediatric Group.

On Friday, LPD was called to a crash involving a pedestrian south of O Street, near South 84th Street and South Cherrywood Drive, at 2:36 p.m. According to LPD, a 19-year-old man was driving northbound on South 84th Street when he struck Gogela, who was using the crosswalk.

Gogela was later taken to a local hospital, where she died.

LPD said the driver remained in the area and is cooperating with the investigation. LPD said there is no indication of speeding or drug use. No citations have been issued at this time.
