The Odisha government is set to make history by hosting the first-ever ‘Mahanadi Boita Pratiyogita 2025’, a grand boat racing event designed to celebrate the state’s glorious maritime heritage.

The two-day competition will take place near the Gadagadia Ghata in Cuttack, alongside the ongoing Baliyatra festival — one of Odisha’s most vibrant cultural celebrations.

A New Chapter in Odisha’s Maritime Tradition

Scheduled to begin on November 11, the Mahanadi Boita Pratiyogita will feature men’s and women’s teams from 10 states, including Odisha. The event aims to revive the state’s age-old maritime spirit while promoting sports, tourism, and cultural unity through traditional and modern boat racing.
