NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. —

The death of a man in his 30s is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Grass Valley Police Department.

Police said just after 7 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call about a person down near a skate park within Condon Park in Grass Valley, where the man was found deceased on scene.

The cause of the man's death was initially investigated as a suspicious death, but it is now being investigated as a homicide. Grass Valley police said the disc golf and skate park areas of Condon Park will reopen on Sunday.

The Nevada County District Attorney's Office is assisting with the investigation, according to police. The Grass Valley Police Department said it has reached out to the FBI Evidence Response Team regarding the victim's death.
