Democratic state Rep. Forrest Bennett of Oklahoma City says he’ll resign his seat in the Oklahoma House of Representatives after being elected president of the Oklahoma State AFL-CIO.
Delegates of the AFL-CIO – which describes itself as a federation of 230 local labor unions – voted during their convention in Tulsa on Friday, Nov. 7, for Bennett to become the organization’s next president, and he was sworn in shortly after the vote.
