PHOENIX – Two safety slogans have been chosen as the best in the 2025 Arizona Department of Transportation’s Safety Message Contest, and Anthony Pagliuca of Scottsdale was among the winning contributors.
He joined seven others who came up with “Camp in the woods, not the left lane.”
Robert Hopper of Surprise submitted the other winning message “Fast & furious? Try safe and courteous.”
During the first phase of the contest, more than 3,400 entries were submitted. Those messages were narrowed down to 10 finalists and shared with the public to determine the winner.
More than 3,700 votes were cast.
Each person who submitted a winning message was invited to ADOT’s Traffic Operations Center to put their messages into the system and see their safety message go live via highway cameras.
