The Buffalo Bills’ defense was already working short-handed on Sunday. Now rookie Landon Jackson, who was getting just the third start of his career, is down with a knee injury, ruled out for the remainder of Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins.
On a second-down play, Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright tried to push for the first down. Jackson was seen on his back clutching his knee. After the whistle blew, the rookie edge rusher ripped his helmet off as trainers came to his aid.
Eventually, Jackson hobbled off the field under his own power and headed straight to the blue medical tent on Buffalo’s sideline. Shortly after, he headed to the locker room with assistance from a member of the training staff.
The Bills don’t have defensive end Michael Hoecht, who tore an Achilles last wee
