RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Mayor Danny Avula and volunteers with Chesapeake Bay Foundation gathered Saturday to plant over 40 trees at Chimbarazo Park.
The event ended Richmond Tree Week , held from November 1 to 8, which celebrated the beauty and importance of trees while encouraging everyone to plant, protect, and appreciate them.
Mayor Avula and volunteers were successful in planting 46 native trees. The effort served as the final phase of a two-day planting at Chimborazo Park that, in total, planted 92 trees at the East End park.
