The Birmingham Police Department’s homicide unit was busy Saturday after two unrelated shootings.
The first shooting occurred at 10:14 a.m. in the 3200 block of 32nd Street North. Investigators said Anson Quandarius Henderson, 30, of Birmingham, was found with a gunshot wound on the porch of the residence. When officers responded, they heard gunshots and saw a vehicle leaving the scene. The vehicle was stopped and the subject was detained.
Henderson was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic altercation between the victim and his child’s mother. After the mother left the location, another vehicle arrived and someone shot Henderson, police said. The suspect has not been identified by police.
