FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Indiana Center for Middle East Peace held its ‘Gala 2025’ in Fort Wayne on Sunday.

Guests gathered at the Orchard Ridge Country Club from 3 to 6:30 p.m. for the event to discuss the state of current conflicts such as the Israel-Hamas War.

The key speaker was former Congresswoman Cori Bush, who represented Missouri’s 1st Congressional District from 2021 to 2025.

Known for her activism, Bush was among the first representatives to call for a ceasefire after October 7, 2023.

According to organizers, Bush has been an advocate for the human rights of all people, both here and abroad.

“In the face of power, she has stood up for the vulnerable,” Indiana Center for Middle East Peace board member Linda Kerr said.
