PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Since 2012, the nonprofit Brides for a Cause has helped cut down the cost of wedding dresses while supporting many different charities.

With Veterans Day approaching, the Brides for a Cause store at Southeast Division and 10th in Portland held one of their two yearly wedding dress giveaways this weekend - this time for military brides and first responders.

“Operation Wedding Gown” gives away wedding dresses to “qualified and registered brides” who are either currently on active duty, a military veteran within the past five years, a first responder or is marrying a member of any of the above.

"It's really fun. They love it," bridal stylist Wanda Clark told KOIN 6 News. "We just had a girl just a few minutes ago that was here, and she had the a beautiful dress. Ve
