GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced that Guilford College and Averett University will end their football seasons immediately following a postgame altercation that occurred Saturday, Nov. 8, citing a failure to meet the conference’s standards for sportsmanship and conduct.
Both schools will forfeit their remaining games scheduled for Nov. 15, ODAC officials said.
Guilford had been set to play at Bridgewater College, while Averett was scheduled to host Roanoke College. ODAC said Bridgewater and Roanoke can choose to play each other to complete their seasons.
