MARLIN, Texas — Marlin ISD announced Sunday the death of one of its sixth-grade students, according to the district's Facebook page.
"This is a devastating loss for our entire Marlin ISD family, and our hearts go out to the student’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved them," the district said in its announcement.
School officials said members of the Region 12 ESC Crisis Team will be on campus on Monday, Nov. 10, to offer counseling and emotional support. Mental health experts can help students discuss their thoughts, feelings and questions, if they feel comfortable doing so.
Families can also access the 24-hour weekend counseling support by calling 1-866-752-3451, according to Marlin ISD.
