'I think we built a pretty good legacy for our music here in Calgary'
After nearly two decades, Calgary’s iconic live music venue, Mikey’s Juke Joint, has officially closed its doors as of Saturday evening.
Since 2007, Mike Clark, the owner of the joint, said he created a space where musicians in the city would be able to congregate and play music.

“Over the years, it built up a really solid community of patrons and musicians, and I think we leave a pretty good legacy after 18 years in the business,” Clark said.
The singer-songwriter and whiz on the sax graduated from UBC with a music degree and has played in blues and rock-and-roll bands for his entire life. Currently, he has the Mike Clark Band and has released six albums in the past.
