DENVER, Colo. (KKTV) - As the U.S. Department of Agriculture changes guidance on SNAP, Colorado officials are working to issue benefits in compliance with the new guidelines.
On Friday, following a federal court order, nearly 32,000 Coloradans were given their full November SNAP benefits. The U.S. Supreme Court then temporarily blocked that order on Friday.
Following this, the U.S.D.A. and Trump administration demanded states “undo” steps to issue full SNAP benefits .
Governor Jared Polis released a statement, saying the state has not reversed any payments.
In the meantime, Colorado’s Department of Human Services said they will issue benefits with this guidance in mind.
