GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for our area, due to nighttime lows dropping into the low 30s starting on Monday.
Daytime highs will be chilly, too. Temperatures likely won’t exceed 60° on Monday, and Tuesday will be even colder in the upper 50s.
The next couple of days will be breezy during the day and night, with gusts up to 25MPH. This will make it feel like the 20s at night, thanks to the wind chill.
Putting a blanket over your outdoor plants helps protect against frost. Pets and animals should be kept inside. For us humans, keep a puffy coat with you until things warm up on Thursday. If you’re used to the cold, you’ll probably think a sweater and a jacket will suffice.
