HONOLULU (Island News) -- Angelica Felix and her son are set to fly back home to California on Monday, but those plans could be disrupted.

"It's really nerve-racking not knowing what is happening," Felix said.

For many visiting the islands, they're worried they may be stranded in paradise.

"I do have to go to work and I'm actually thinking what's going to happen with figuring out school for my son and then figuring out what am I going to tell my boss if I do get delayed?," Felix said. "Honestly, I don't want it to impact me and cost me money because I don't think that's fair."

She's not the only one anxious about the ripple effects of the ongoing government shutdown.
