President Trump went to a Sunday evening NFL game featuring the Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions, according to pool reports.
A post on X showed the president on the FOX Sports broadcast talking with commentators about the game.
The president’s visit to the game comes after a report that he was pressing to have the Commanders’ new stadium named after him.
“It’s what the president wants, and it will probably happen,” a source told ESPN.
In July, Trump said he would back changing the Commanders’ name back to a previous name that some found offensive toward Native Americans. However, he suggested that should the Commanders rack up more wins, he would support the current name.
